Sign-to-Voice Interpreting

With rare exceptions, all events at Bread of Life Deaf (including Education Hour and Worship) are conducted entirely in American Sign Language without the use of voice interpreters.

If you do not sign and attend BOLD because you want to learn more about Deaf community/culture/language, immersing yourself into our worship, without the aid of voice interpreters, will give you the very best opportunity to have that experience.  If you do not sign but are connected in some way to the Deaf community (as a spouse/partner, parent, child, friend, etc.), we assume you want to learn sign language - again, voice interpreting will hinder rather than help that effort.

However, we do not want you to be completely confused when you attend our Worship services - and miss the Good News of God's love for you! We provide detailed sermon notes and other visual prompts (on Power Point) to help you follow along.  And we do provide voice interpreters for special occasions (Easter, Christmas, baptisms, etc.).

We hope you will consider visiting us and experience the “linguistic workout” that we are happy to provide for you!

Deaf/Blind Interpreting

We are committed to providing access during Education Hour and/or Worship for those who require Deaf/Blind interpreting services.  We can do this most easily if we know 2-3 days in advance that the service will be needed.  For all other events, we request, whenever possible, a minimum notice of 2 weeks.  Please contact Pr. Susan (boldpastor@gmail.com) if you need this service.

Voice-to-Sign Interpreting

On those very rare occasions when BOLD provides a speaker who does not know ASL, we will provide voice-to-sign interpreting upon request.  We can do this most easily if we know 2-3 days in advance that the service will be needed.  For all other events, we request, whenever possible, a minimum notice of 2 weeks.  Please contact Pr. Susan (boldpastor@gmail.com) if you need this service.

Other Accessibility Needs

Bread of Life Deaf is committed to providing other accessibility services as needed.  If you have a particular need not mentioned above, please contact Pr. Susan (boldpastor@gmail.com).
