Our Pastor

Susan Masters, LICSW, MDiv, CI/CT, has been the pastor of BOLD since January, 2009.  Pr. Susan grew up in southwestern Ohio and is a SODA – sister of a Deaf adult.  She has been a sign language interpreter for 30+ years and a clinical social worker (in pediatric oncology) for 25+ years.  In 2007, she graduated from Luther Seminary. She is married to Bob Hulteen (a journalist), and they have two daughters, Korla and Ella. She enjoys training sign language interpreters to practice in liturgical Christian worship settings.  Pr. Susan is very honored to be the pastor at BOLD, where she is continually amazed by the good people here – especially by their faith, their talents, their love for God, and their willingness to take risks when necessary.  She thinks the congregation teaches her more than she teaches them….

Our Church Administrator

Mary Ellen Olson has been our financial secretary for five years. Before she retired, she was a social worker for 26 years. She helps us manage our financial records, creates our newsletter each month, and helps Pr. Susan with administrative needs.

Our Custodian

Michael Rea is our newest staff person – he became our custodian in September, 2009.  Mike and his wife, Andrea, have been neighbors to BOLD for over 20 years.  He has a lot of experience in custodial services, snow removal, and lawn care.  We are so glad he has joined our staff to help us take good care of our church building.  Welcome to BOLD, Mike!
